Excel for Ever
This is a project about middle class guilt, fantasy and mainly my father. My father works in the sort of job that is very computery and I don't really understand, but I do gather that excel and their spreadsheets seem to be crucially involved. My dad has always been miserable about his job and often fantasized quite vocally about his dream life without it, in nature amongst animals and the land. Not having a boss. Freedom. In this work im trying to express my fathers day dream through his reality, the disconnect there, instead of nature he has data, random symbols and numbers and letters, devoid of meaning.
